Standard:

 The article suggests a connection between a hitherto largely unknown source from the University Library in Klagenfurt (of which a new edition is provided) and the Waldensian movement in late 13th century Austria. In its wide textual openness, the German oath and subsequent Latin indictment of the source allows insight into the Church's difficulties in ferreting out and fighting the heretical movement in rural areas. The source may also reflect traces of a conflict between the old monastic orders and the mendicants. In any case, it clearly demonstrates aspects of the smooth transition between secular and religiously dominated aspirations.
