Riassunto in inglese: = Friars minor and the inquisition : some cases in medieval Italy

The Franciscans seem to have played as a secondary role in the medieval history of theInquisition. This is not true at all. The contribution brings clear their active participation in the repression of the haeretica pravitas through the analysis of emblematic cases from the Thirteenth to the Fifteenth century or from the birth of the Inquisition to the crusade against the Waldenses of 1488,which was attended by the Franciscan friars of the Observance. The contribution focuses mostly on unpublished documents, such as account books of the inquisitors (libri racionum), a process in which the Friars Minor inquisitors undergo judicial inquiry the members of their religious order (the case of Todi in Umbria), focusing especially on the Franciscan archives of the Officium Fidei.
